Some Definitions

  • Skid Steer
    • A skid steer is a vehicle maneuvered by skid steering, a method of steering through braking or engaging tracks or wheels on one side of a vehicle. The skid steering vehicle is turned by generating differential velocity at the opposite sides of the vehicle, as the wheels or tracks are non-steerable (fixed position).

  • DUI
    • Also known as Driving Under Influence, or driving while intoxicated (DWI), is the act of driving a motor vehicle with blood levels of alcohol in excess of specified limits.  This is considered a criminal offense in United States.  Convictions do not necessarily involve driving of a vehicle.  There is no need to prove impairment as long as the limit of blood level is exceeded.

  • Braking Distance
    • Distance a vehicle will travel from the point where its brakes are fully applied to when it comes to a complete stop.

  • I have a learner's permit, can I drive now?
    • Learner's permit holders must be accompanied by a supervising driver who is 21 years or older and has held a license for a minimum of 3 years.  The person must be seared beside the new driver at all times.

  • Why should I sign up with driving school?
    • There isn't a single answer out there, as people sign up for diving classes for many reasons.  Some simply want to improve ther driving skills.  Others want to become safer and more confident driver.  Students often find it helpful to refresh and brusho up on their skills.  Others have never driven through the bridge, tunnel or on the highway.  If you have trouble changing lanes or merging onto the highways you may also want to enhence your skills.
